Brendan Rodgers were confident of bringing the striker to Liverpool but now rumours say Costa denies all rumours linking him away from the Vicente Calderón-side.
The striker has spoken about his desire to stay in Madrid to help Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid coach, and his team to achieve their goals for the incoming season.
“As I’ve been in Argentina and Uruguay I’ve not heard anything about this. I’m happy here, if the club want me to be here, I’m going to be here.
“I think that the coach counts on all of us, not just me. He knows how important it is to maintain the squad, the fans knows it as well.”
With Diego Costa, according to Metro, is staying. Liverpool face a tough time now as they have the future of Luis Suarez to worry about too.
