Liverpool are to start their £100 million redevelopment of Anfield on Monday.

The plans to improve the historic ground will see Anfield’s capacity go from the current 45, 500, to 53, 500.

Liverpool are planning to add a further £8,000 seats to their main stand, with 4,500 of them to be corporate seating, as Liverpool look to make money fast following a summer spending spree, and the cost of the building work itself.

The stadium’s current capacity will not be affected by the future plans, with building work set to last up until the 2016/17 season.

Previous plans has been made to possibly leave Anfield, however the Reds hierarchy have opted to renovate their current home.
