Liverpool’s Top Ten Highest Paid Players

So lets start the journey into looking at Liverpool’s highest earners. From Philippe Coutinho to Steven Gerrard, Liverpool have a wealth of talent at their disposal and here are the top-10 biggest earners currently at Liverpool.

10. Philippe Coutinho – £60,000

Starting the list of Top 10 Highest Paid Liverpool Players 2014/2015 is play-maker Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian joined Liverpool from Inter Milan for just £8.5 million in 2013 and has since become a very important player for The Reds.

The young Brazilian is currently on a contract worth £60k-a-week at Liverpool making him the 10th highest earner at the club.

However, after this season’s performances, I am sure a new contract will soon be offered with a pay-rise.

9. Fabio Borini – £65,000

The former Chelsea player makes the list at number nine.

The Italian joined Liverpool back in 2012 and despite not being a regular for Brendan Rodgers, he still makes the Top 10 Highest Paid Liverpool Players 2014/2015.

Borini has a weekly wage of £65k-a-week.

The 24-year-old has spent most of his career going out on loan, with the latest coming when he joined Sunderland.

He is expected to leave Liverpool over the Summer.

8. José Enrique – £65,000

In number eight is Liverpool left back Jose Enrique with a contract worth £65k-a-week.

The Spanish international joined Liverpool back in 2011 after he moved from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in a deal worth £7 million.

Another player likely to depart Anfield this season after falling down the pecking order under Rodgers.

7. Lucas – £65,000

Another player makes the list thanks to their £65k-a-week contract and this time it’s Lucas Leiva.

The Brazilian plays as a defensive midfielder for Liverpool, but has struggled for regular first-team football due to Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard playing in his role.

Lucas joined Liverpool in 2007 from Gremio for £5 million and now as of 2015 earns £65k-a-week. However, he is another player likely to leave the club this Summer.

Dejan Lovren – £70,000

Joining the list of Top 10 Highest Paid Liverpool Players 2014/2015 is new signing Dejan Lovren.

The Croatian defender joined Liverpool from Southampton for a fee of £20 million in 2014  and is now earning £70k-a-week making him the 6th highest earner at Liverpool.

The defender was one of three players that Rodgers signed from Southampton over the Summer.

5. Adam Lallana – £75,000

Another new signing makes the list and it’s another former-player from Southampton.

This time around its Adam Lallana with a £75k-a-week contract making him the 5th Highest Paid Liverpool Players 2014/2015.

The Englishman has not been a regular for Liverpool this season because of a series of injuries but in recent weeks he has shown signs of his former self and could be a big player for The Reds next season.

4. Mamadou Sakho – £75,000

Coming at number four is Mamadou Sakho with a weekly wage of £75k-a-week.

He joined Liverpool from Paris Saint Germain for £15 million and is now one of the highest earners at the club. Sakho’s form has been rather inconsistent since joining Liverpool, but he is now a regular in their back-line alongside Martin Srktel.

The 25 year old also plays for the France national team.

3. Daniel Sturridge – £80,000

One of the best players at Liverpool comes in at number three.

The former Chelsea man joined Liverpool for a fee which was believed to be in the range of £12 million and has become a real success at Anfield after struggling at both Stamford Bridge and the Etihad Stadium.

The Englishman now earns £80k-a-week at Liverpool making him the 3rd Highest Paid Liverpool Player.

One of the best defenders in the Premier League makes the list of Top 10 Highest Paid Liverpool Players 2014/2015 with a weekly wage of £90k-a-week.

Skrtel is currently in contract negotiations with the club so this weekly-wage could rise, but his current contract is still enough to see him take second place in Liverpool’s earners list.

1. Steven Gerrard – £140,000

Number one is Liverpool captain and legend Steven Gerrard.

The long-serving player is set to depart Anfield this Summer ending his long-term association with the club, but he leaves creating memories and a legacy at the club.
