They are both part of Switzerland’s 23-man squad for Euro 2016

According to reports, Chelsea and Arsenal will battle it out for Switzerland full-backs Ricardo Rodriguez and Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Rodriguez, who plays as a left-back for club (Wolfsburg) and country, is valued at around £19 million. However, he reportedly favours a move to the Emirates Stadium rather than Stamford Bridge.

On the other hand, Lichtsteiner, who plays as a right-back for club (Juventus) and country, is set to bring his successful spell at the Serie A club to an end.

Ironically, he is the complete opposite to Rodriguez because he would rather join the Blues over the Gunners in order to link up with his former manager Antonio Conte.

Conte will become the new Chelsea boss following to European Championships in France, and speculation suggests that he has already offered Lichtsteiner a three-year contract in West London.

The battle for the pairing is set to be decided after they have served Switzerland at the Euros.
