Manchester United boss admits they were ‘s**t’ last night

Louis van Gaal has admitted he agrees with the fans for calling Manchester United ‘f*****g s**t’ last night.

The Red Devils lost 2-1 in the Europa League at the hands of Danish minnows FC Midtjylland, despite taking the lead in the first half through Memphis Depay.

Although they are still in with a great chance of qualifying, it hasn’t prevented a major backlash from the United fans, who had to pay £71 for a ticket to watch the match.

United fans voiced their displeasure at the full-time whistle by chanting ‘We’re f*****g s**t’, and after the game Van Gaal hinted at the fact he agreed with them.

“The fans can criticise,” said the Dutchman. “They can do that because, when you see the second-half, maybe they are right.

“We have to improve and then the fans shall support us again. We have seen that in the 18 months that I am here.

“They are disappointed like we are. I’m very grateful for the fans who supported us, but we wanted to win and we have to win at Old Trafford and then we are in the next round.

“We have to do it, but it’s not easy.”
