Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has confirmed that Ajax defender, Daley Blind, is set for a medical in Carrington, ahead of a proposed £15million move.
The Dutch international had a great World Cup in Brazil under Van Gaal’s Netherlands, and he is set to become the club’s fifth signing, following; Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo and Angel Di Maria.
United’s season hasn’t started off well at all under Van Gaal, picking up two points from a possible nine, and also being eliminated from the Capital One Cup to a League One side earlier this week,
However, the Dutchman is confident that he is growing a team that can turn it around, and he has confirmed that Blind is close to joining his side, with a medical left to do.
“I know him very well, he was my player at the World Cup and his father was my assistant,” said Van Gaal.
“But [the move] always depends on the medical, so we will have to wait and see.”
