According to Marca, Madrid’s hierarchy have already reached the decision to sell Bale at the end of the season. Bale has started only 13 games in all competitions for Madrid this season due to injury. The 28-year-old has struggled to perform when given playing time.
The report claims that despite the inflated transfer fees in recent years, nobody at Madrid expects to make a profit on Bale and the Spanish champions would have accepted a €90 million offer from Manchester United last summer.
Jose Mourinho had indicated that United would be prepared to make a move for Bale, but only if Madrid suggested that the player was for sale.
It’s also reported that Madrid are keen for Bale to leave in order to allow Marco Asensio to reach his full potential.
