Real Madrid are ready to beat Manchester United to the signing of Luiz Gustavo, as it appears Sami Khedira will finally move on.

Madrid are still currently in talks with Khedira over his future, and it is understood that the German has stood firm and asked to leave.

The Spanish giants are reluctant to let Khedira leave for free once his contract expires, and will look to cash in on the World Cup winner.

This has alerted the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal who are both admirers of the defensive midfielder, and will look to table bids in the coming days.

Now, Madrid have turned their attentions to Wolfsburg midfielder Gustavo as Khedira’s replacement, who has a buy-out clause of £26m.

Manchester United have already made enquiries about the player’s availibility, but it appears that Madrid could beat them to the signing of the player.
