The bid is believed to be worth around £60m in total

Man City have lodged a new bid for Alexis Sanchez in the hope of signing him in a Deadline Day deal.

Pep Guardiola’s side were hopeful of completing a deal for the wantaway Chile international earlier in the window but the Gunners have refused to let the player leave thus far.

A £50m bid from City was rejected last week, with Arsene Wenger unwilling to sell the player to a rival team and also to let him leave for that amount, especially in today’s market.

However, it hasn’t deterred Guardiola, who has now launched a new bid to try and sign him before the deadline.

This new bid is £55m in cash upfront and then has another £5m in add-ons, taking the overall bid up to £60m. It’s a £10m increase on their last bid and with Sanchez seemingly unhappy at the Emirates Stadium, now could be the time to let him go.

It doesn’t leave the club with much time to nab a replacement but reports have claimed that if Sanchez was to leave the Gunners, then they are expected to go back in for Thomas Lemar.

Arsenal have been interested in the Monaco man for most of the window but their interest in him has recently cooled and Liverpool have since entered the race. However, it is now believed that they are back in pursuit of his signature.
