Man United boss Louis Van Gaal has decided he WON’T be trying to sign Toni Kroos. It was believed that the Bayern midfielder was one of his main targets, but when he spoke to Ed Woodward about who he would like to sign, the German wasn’t mentioned.

Now it looks the plug has been pulled on a possible deal. Ex-United boss David Moyes was reportedly well advanced in a £20m deal for Kroos before his sacking and it looks like Van Gaal won’t be continuing those talks.

When the new manager was shown a list of Moyes’ targets, he claimed he didn’t want to move for the Bayern star, despite the fact the two worked together previously at the Bundesliga club. This is all believed to be because Van Gaal is determined to take the Red Devils in a different route to the one Moyes had planned and he has now drawn up his own list of midfield targets.

He is a known admirer of Roma’s Kevin Strootman while a bid for Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas could be on the cards too, as the club look to improve on what was a terrible 2013/14 season for them.
