List Of Premier League Manager of The Month Awards 14/15 Season

After yesterday’s top-10 focused on the Player of the Month winners throughout the 2014/2015 campaign, today SillySeason want to congratulate and highlight the Manager of the Month winners.

Working our way from August 2014, to April 2015, we will look at each managerial award month-by-month and see why the manager won the Manager of the Month award.

Similar to Player of the Month, only ONE manager won the award on two separate occasions.

Lets find out who it was!

August – Garry Monk – Swansea City

Starting the list in August is Swansea City manager Garry Monk.

Manchester United, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion all fell to The Swans in their first three Premier League games of the season.

His 100% start to the season saw his side in second place during the first month of the season, only behind eventual-champions Chelsea, who were only in first place due to having a better goal difference.

September – Ronald Koeman – Southampton

Ronald Koeman picked up his first Manager of the Month award in England during the second month of the season after a 100% month.

The Saints, who lost several stars over the Summer, picked up wins against Queens Park Rangers, Swansea City and Newcastle.

Koeman’s men were also victorious in the Capital One Cup after beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

October – Sam Allardyce – West Ham United

What a start to the season West Ham United had, and Sam Allardyce was rewarded in October with the Manager of the Month award.

Breaking up the usual top-four, The Hammers were sitting pretty near the top of the table, and after three wins out of three in October, they didn’t look like stopping.

Wins over QPR, Burnley and Manchester City, gave Allardyce his managerial award.

However, he lost his job at the end of the season after the club refused to offer him a contract extension.

November – Alan Pardew – Newcastle United

No surprise Newcastle United’s season dropped when Alan Pardew left.

After being chased out of the club by the fans, Pardew left St James Park for Crystal Palace, but this was after winning the November Manager of the Month for The Magpies.

Despite losing their last game in November, Newcastle had won the three previous games against; QPR, West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool.

Pardew kept Newcastle up due to their impressive first-half of the season, and then went to Palace and kept them up as well.

December – Manuel Pellegrini – Manchester City

Overall a very disappointing campaign for Manchester City, but in December, Manuel Pellegrini was given a lovely Christmas present by winning Manager of the Month.

Over the hectic festive period, City played six Premier League games, winning five of them and drawing the other one.

Wins over; Everton, Sunderland, Leicester, Crystal Palace and West Brom throughout the month, which ended in a 2-2 draw against Burnley.

January – Ronald Koeman – Southampton

The only manager to win the Manager of the Month award twice during the season. What a job Koeman did at St Marys this season.

After winning it back in September, Koeman added a second to his name thanks to a superb January, where he guided the club to three wins from three.

Not just any wins either. Saints beat Arsenal 2-0, then followed that up with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford, before beating Newcastle 2-1.

February – Tony Pulis – West Bromwich Albion

The Baggies boss was given the Manger of the Month award after guiding the club to an unbeaten month.

Two wins and two draws were enough to give Pulis the award.

March – Arsène Wenger – Arsenal

Arsenal hit their stride late on in the campaign and March was a standout month for them after winning Manager of the Month and also Player of the Month.

Olivier Giroud won the player award, whilst Arsene Wenger took home the managerial award after guiding the club to four Premier League victories.

The Gunners beat Everton, QPR, West Ham and Newcastle.

As well as their four wins in the Premier League, they also beat Manchester United in the FA Cup Quarter-Final and beat AS Monaco 2-0 in the Champions League.

April – Nigel Pearson – Leicester City

How is this team still in the Premier League?!

They looked destined for the drop halfway through the season, but an incredible end of season run saw them survive in the top-flight.

Pearson guided The Foxes to four wins out of five in April, with the one loss coming against champions Chelsea.

Leicester managed to beat Burnley, Swansea, West Brom and West Ham in a row to help keep them in the Premier League.
