Citizens wanted to sign teenager from fierce-rivals

Manchester City offered a Manchester United teenager a contract worth £11k-a-week in the hope that he’d swap clubs.

Callum Gribbin is the 16-year-old that City wanted to lure away from their local-rivals, but he quickly rejected the lucrative contract in order to stay put with the Red Devils.

The New Ryan Giggs

Gribbin is predicted a bright future at United, and that’s why City were so desperate to lure him to the Etihad Stadium, but the teenager snubbed the contract after having conversations with United legend, Ryan Giggs.

The 16-year-old has actually been dubbed the next Giggs, and after hearing about City’s interest, the Welshman had a conversation with Gribbin and persuaded him to stay put at Old Trafford.

The midfielder has already trained with Louis van Gaal‘s first-team, but is mainly playing his matches for the U-18s.
