According to reports, Manchester United will resume talks with Southampton regarding the potential transfer of left-back Luke Shaw.

The 18-year-old has been wanted by The Red Devils since January, and after having a £27million big rejected by The Saints, it looked like any potential deal would be off the table.

However, after Mauricio Pochettino left St Marys to join Tottenham Hotspur, the club’s board are set to lose a lot of their stars due to them being upset about the departure of the Argentine.

Rickie Lambert is set to sign for Liverpool, whereas; Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez are all wanted by Premier League giants as well.

Despite Patrice Evra penning a one-year extension at Old Trafford just last week, United still want to sign Shaw and see him as their long-term option at left-back, hoping he fulfills he potential and becomes the new Ashley Cole, as predicted.

It isn’t understood how much Southampton want for their English star, but after rejecting a £27m bid, it’s expected that they will hold out for at least £30m.
