France goalkeeper Steve Mandada has been ruled out of the World Cup Finals through an injury.

The keeper suffered a craked vertebra in Marseille’s final League game of the season on Saturday.

Mandanda, who is second choice behind Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris, revealed the injury on his official Twitter account.

He wrote.

It is with great sadness that I announce that I will not be able to take part in the World Cup.”

France are in Group E of the World Cup, which begins on 12 June.

They will play Honduras in their opening game on 15 June, before also facing Ecuador and Switzerland.
