Manchester United have received some bad news on the injury front as new signing Marouane Fellaini could be out until December due to having surgery on a wrist problem.

The £27million signing from Everton was not included in the squad that faced Sunderland on Saturday and he has now been sent to see a specialist to see what is the best way to cure his injured wrist.

The Belgium international is now set for seven-weeks on the sidelines and could miss some crucial games for both club and country.

Manchester United confirmed the news on their official Facebook page, saying: ‘On Saturday, news emerged of an injury to Marouane Fellaini that could keep the striker out for at least a few weeks… Join us in wishing Fellaini a swift recovery…’
