Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick may have suffered ligament damage, according to England manager Roy Hodgson.
The United man was stretchered off in the second-half of England’s friendly with Spain, and after the game, Hodgson confirmed that the injury looks like a nasty one to the veteran.
Carrick played the whole match until the last minute when he landed awkwardly on his ankle, and Hodgson believes it could be a serious injury for the United man.
Speaking after the game, Hodgson admitted he’s fearing the worst for the 34-year-old.
“It doesn’t look good,” Hodgson said.
“He’s got a severely twisted ankle, which normally means ligament damage. But we wont know until the X-ray or scan tomorrow.”
