Michael Owen feels that Liverpool can win the Premier League title however Arsenal are too inconsistent to win. Owen thinks Liverpool are serious contenders however thinks the Gunners are too incosistent, Mesut Ozil in particular. The retired striker thinks that if Brendan Rodgers makes some good signings during the transfer window he will be capable of winning the reds first ever PL title.

Michael Owen said: “Liverpool are fully deserving of being labelled title contenders.”

“The Reds are firmly back in the big time. The noises I am hearing are that Rodgers has money to spend this coming window and should he unearth another couple of gems, I certainly wouldn’t back against them lifting some silverware come May.”

The London side are two points above Liverpool and have made an impressive start to the season however Owen thinks that Arsene Wenger’s side will drop soon.

“Despite people constantly telling me Mesut Ozil is world class, his inconsistency means that we only see occasional glimpses of real quality. His odd good performance is usually followed by half a dozen poor ones. Arsenal don’t have the class of player to go toe to toe with the main title contenders.”

Arsenal will be playing another title contender Chelsea on Monday which may give a better view on who might win the Premier League.
