Michu reminds me of Bergkamp, says Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given Swansea City star Michu a massive compliment by comparing him to Dutchman Dennis Bergkamp.

The Gunners will travel to Wales this weekend in order to face Michael Laudrup’s men and Wenger knows how much of a threat Michu is, especially after last season when the Spaniard scored in every game involving the two.

Signing for just £2million last season, the Spaniard has become one of the best ever Premier League bargains and Wenger believes he resembles one of the ultimate Premier League footballers.

‘I see him like a little bit, position-wise, like a Bergkamp, more than an up-front striker.

‘They can play with both [strikers] because Michu’s the kind of striker who is a midfielder as well. He can play both positions, that’s why they are 4-4-1-1 or you can call that a 4-4-2 when Wilfried Bony plays.

Wenger was monitoring Michu in the summer as he was on the search for a new striker, so after these comments, maybe the Frenchman is planning on making a January bid for the Swansea-man.
