Milinkovic-Savic signs new contract with Lazio

Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has signed a new contract with Lazio which will keep him at the club till 2023. The Serbian midfielder was strongly linked to Manchester United but he stayed at Lazio.

A number of top European clubs were interested in signing the Serb. These included Real Madrid and PSG. Recent reports also suggested that Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City showed interest in Milinkovic-Savic.

According to the new contract, Milinkovic-Savic will receive a salary of £2.5 million a year. the contract does not have any release clause. Hence, Lazio can ask for a fee in excess of £100 million if any club shows interest in signing him.

This season, Milinkovic-Savic has scored a goal and has registered an assist for Lazio from 6 matches in the Serie A. Lazio play a Europa League fixture against German club Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday before resuming their league campaign against Fiorentina on Saturday.
