Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev  has revealed the real reason why he loaned striker Falcao to Manchester United, reports the Daily Express.

Falcao ompleted a loan move to Manchester United in a season long loan move, as the French club were desperate to let their striker go, to avoid sanctions from UEFA.

Hence the reason why Monaco also let James Rodriguez leave for a £65 million fee.

Vice-president Vadim Vasilyev told Canal Plus: “We could have never had the same project as PSG.

“Here it is nice, but too small.

“It was out of the question for [Monaco owner] Dimitry Rybolovlev to pay a single euro in fines concerning Financial Fair Play.”
