Jose Mourinho was absolutely livid with officials after Chelsea were denied three points against Man United in the dying moments. The referee (Phil Dowd) sent Branislav Ivanovic off in stoppage-time for a second yellow card and, from the resulting free-kick, Van Persie scored to snatch a draw.

Speaking about the incident, Mourinho said: “I prefer not to speak about the second yellow card. The red card, I was seeing it coming.

“If I have to speak about the second yellow [for Ivanovic] I have to speak about lots of things – the penalty that Ivanovic should have been given [under the challenge of Chris Smalling], the accumulation of yellow cards, the throw-ins.

“I know I speak always with my heart and get in trouble. I think Chelsea were fantastic, even more credit to my players.”

Didier Drogba had initially put the Blues in front with a goal in the early part of the second half, only for the club to lose it at the last, with the sending-off and Van Persie goal in the final minutes of the game.
