Manager unhappy with United missing out on signings

Jose Mourinho is unhappy with Ed Woodward’s lack of transfers completed this summer at Manchester United.

United have made just one signing so far this summer- with Eric Baily from Villarreal for £30million being the only addition.

Mourinho has been handed a £200million cash mountain to turn United back into contenders, but Mourinho is reportedly unhappy with the progress made so far this summer.

An example of United missing out on a transfer is the young Portuguese, Renato Sanches, who United were scouting for several months. However, the 18-year-old recently signed for European giants Bayern Munich instead.

Mourinho is said to want to add four more players to his squad this summer with Zlatan Ibrahimovic expected to be the next to arrive on a free transfer.

United are also heavily pursuing Henrikh Mkhitaryan and they had tabled an improved £28m bid for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

German newspaper Bild claimed yesterday that Mkhitaryan could sign for United next month, should United further increase their offer to £32.6m.

Juventus star Paul Pogba is also on Mourinho’s shopping list and the M.E.N. say United retain an interest in Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane while Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
