Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has made a public apology on his official Twitter account after pictures came out of him in a hotel room with a model just hours before they were due to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The Frenchman, who is married, had a secret affair with the model and has now publically apologised to his family and also everyone around Arsenal Football Club.

With just 30-minutes before Arsenal were due to take on Liverpool in the FA Cup, Giroud sent out two tweets to his followers and he admitted that the images and reports were correct about his hotel night with a model.

‘I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans,’ he said.

‘I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment.’

Giroud started on the bench in tonight’s game, but did come on near the end of the match.
