Both Captain and vice-captain Terry and Cahill are both set to miss out from today’s starting eleven.

Which leaves a little dilemma for Conte to decide who will run the ship on the field today in the FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham.

Nathan Ake is set to replace in doubt Gary Cahill and Terry will sit on the sidelines, as confirmed by the boss himself.

Which leaves two major candidates which we explore below:

2. Eden Hazard

Hazard has experience earning his captaincy with Belgium’s national side, Eden would be a good choice to control the game from the midfield, however, this may take some focus on his game which could be detrimental.

Nonetheless a good second choice.

1. David Luiz

It’s always a bit more of an advantage to have your captain in defense, they have a view of the game better than any other position when is comes to having to watch the game as well.

And Luiz comes with a lot of defensive experience, he is the best choice considering the situation with Gary Cahill and Terry set to miss the game.

It’s most likely Conte will go with Luiz, he also favours a Captain in defense.
