Wilson Palacios has flown to Dohar in Qatar to hold talks with the club as Stoke look to offload the Honduran international.

The 29 year-old has failed to make any real impact with the Potters since joining from Spurs back in 2011 due to a number of injuries.

With Steve Sidwell arriving from Fulham this summer, competition for a place in the starting eleven will be more competitive and will only push Palacios further down the pecking order so a move was imminent.

Qatar Sports Club made an official statement on their club twitter saying: “The Honduran national team player and Stoke City’s Wilson Palacios to sign in Doha with Qatar Sport Club.”

Palacios was part of the Honduran side at the World Cup which failed to make it out of Group E but the competition, along with Premier League experience, gained the midfielder the recognition he needed ot make a move from the Britannia.
