Frenchman claims it wasn’t the right time

Juventus star Paul Pogba has revealed why he decided to snub a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.

The Blues offered Juve just shy of £70million in order to sign the powerhouse midfielder, and after the Serie A side accepted the bid, it looked like a deal was set to be finalised.

However, Pogba decided otherwise and rejected the chance to join Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge despite being offered a contract worth around £8.5m-a-year.

As it’s been revealed in a recent study, Pogba is currently on around £65k-a-week in Turin, but a mega pay-rise didn’t persuade him to leave the club this summer.

Speaking in a recent interview, Pogba admitted that the time wasn’t right to move and that’s why he decided to stay put.

Pogba Discusses Move

“Why would I not stay? I didn’t have any motive to go, it wasn’t the right time,” the 22-year-old told The Sun.
“It was never clear that I would leave and there’s no reason I can’t continue here for longer, let’s see.”
Pogba was then asked about a possible move to FC Barcelona in January, and he confirmed that he doesn’t know what will happen in the New Year.
Pogba added: “Has a deal been struck with Barça in January? I don’t know, for now I’m at Juventus and I’m focused only on them because we haven’t started well. As for the rest, we’ll see.”
