Chelsea have confirmed that the imminent signing of Pedro is not a replacement for winger Willian, who was rumoured to be leaving Stamford Bridge.

Newspaper and television reports in France claim that the Brazil international had been offered to Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich for a certain price, in order to make space for the Barcelona star’s arrival.

Foot Mercato says the player’s agent has offered the 27-year-old to the two Champions League contenders, so they can make way for Chelsea’s latest big money signing.

However, the Mirror claim a club source saying the London club have no interest in letting the player leave Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho knows he needs to offload an attacking midfielder when Pedro completes his switch from the Spanish giants.

It is expected that wingers Juan Cuadrado and Victor Moses will leave the Premier League champions, with Willian being thought of as a starter despite Chelsea’s summer deals.

It is understood that Willian will battle it out for a starting role with Oscar for the central attacking midfielder role, with Belgium international Eden Hazard playing on the left and Pedro on the right behind target man Diego Costa.
