The winger finally made his Premier League switch

According to the Daily Express, Pedro recently returned to the Camp Nou to say his goodbyes to his ex-teammates at Barcelona.

The Spanish international also revealed the reasons behind his £21.4 million move to Premier League champions Chelsea; and why he didn’t choose to join Manchester City or, more publicly, Manchester United.

A move to Old Trafford seemed imminent for Pedro before United boss Louis van Gaal ended his interest in the forward at the last minute.

The 28-year old showed van Gaal exactly what he had missed out on, as he scored a goal, assisted one for Diego Costa and won Man of the Match on his debut in the 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion.

‘Several English clubs were interested.’

When giving his speech in front of his former La Liga teammates, Pedro said: “Several English clubs were interested. United, City. But in the end Chelsea acted the quickest and wrapped up the deal.”

He also added: “I talked with Mourinho, it’s true he called me. I liked what he said. He convinced me.”

“Living in London with my family was also something I liked, and the fact that I have friends at Chelsea,” admitted the Spaniard.

Pedro could make his home debut for the Blues this coming Saturday, as they take on Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
