According to reports from MARCA, PSG are interested in signing Keylor Navas from Real Madrid as a replacement for Gianluigi Buffon who departed from the club yesterday. Navas made only 21 appearances for Real Madrid this season as the arrival of Thibaut Courtois limited his appearances. The Costa Rican will most likely not be in Real Madrid’s plans for next season. Navas joined Real Madrid from Levante in 2014 following an impressive WOrld Cup where he helped Costa Rica to the quarter-finals, their best ever World Cup finish. Navas has since made 162 appearances for Real, keeping 52 clean sheets.

Following Buffon’s departure, PSG need a suitable backup for Alphonse Areola. Navas may not  have made much appearances for Real this season but he still has a few years left in him. Hence, Navas can be a suitable addition to the squad and can provide stiff competition to Areola for a place in the playing XI.

Both clubs have already started talks over a transfer for Navas and there’s a good chance the transfer will happen.
