The striker’s opportunities have been limited

Radamel Falcao has insisted that he hasn’t had a real chance of proving himself at Chelsea so far this campaign.

The Colombia international centre forward joined the Blues on a season-long loan from AS Monaco, but has made just nine appearances for the West London club – scoring a solitary goal.

The 29-year old struggled during his first Premier League loan spell at Manchester United last term, but he still has burning desire to prove himself in England’s top flight and he wants to do it at Chelsea.

With Guus Hiddink now in charge at Stamford Bridge, Falcao may just receive the fresh start he needs.

‘it has been complicated’

When speaking to Hola Colombia, Falcao said: “Chelsea are the team who bet on me and I took that opportunity. However, it has been complicated because the team hasn’t started the season the best, nor have I been given the opportunities I want.”

“But I’m very grateful, very happy. As for the future, I hope to have more opportunities to show what I can do in the second half of the season,” added the former Atletico Madrid man
