AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao has rejected the chance to move to England after stating his desire to stay in France.

The Colombian international, who missed the World Cup in Brazil due to injury, was reportedly ready to leave Monaco after just one season, but now recent reports have claimed he is happy to stay in France and is not seeking a move away from the club.

The 28-year-old cost the Ligue 1 club £48million last Summer when they signed him from Atletico Madrid, and original reports suggested he was growing tired in France due to the lack of competition, however, he has rubbished those reports.

He said: “I believe in Monaco’s project.

“I want to stay here and play Champions League football with Monaco.

“We will strengthen the team in order to be ready for the Champions League.”
