Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that Arsenal have triggered Jamie Vardy’s £20million release clause.
The England striker scored 24 league goals for the Foxes to lead them to the Premier League title.
But despite signing a new three-and-a-half-year deal in February worth £70,000-a-week he now appears to be on his way to the Emirates.
When asked by Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport whether the Gunners had made an offer for the 29-year-old, Ranieri replied: “It’s all true.”
Arsenal and Leicester are now in talks and a deal could be finalised by the end of the weekend.
