The Italian has identified the type of signing he needs

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has admitted that the club must sign players who play with ‘heart and soul’, to avoid upsetting their family spirit.

The Foxes have concluded their fantastic season with a post-season tour of Thailand – the home of the club’s owners – and Ranieri isn’t expecting any big name players through the door this summer, despite playing Champions League football next season.

It has been the team spirit that has helped Leicester to pull of arguably one of the greatest achievements in world football – having been playing in the Championship just two seasons ago – and the 64-year-old boss doesn’t want to see their special bond to be ruined by any egotistical stars.

“For us it’s not so important to bring some superstars, it’s important to bring the players that play with heart and with the soul,” Ranieri admitted.

“This was one of our secrets this season and for us it is important. For me it is important to have two players for each position because we have a lot competitions to do and it is important to be ready for each competition.

“The new players have to be able to play with us. I won’t just accept any player. If they join us, they have to live with our family, the way we are.”

Ranieri has an important summer ahead, as he prepares Leicester for Champions League football, and his signings will be crucial if the Foxes are to make a remarkable second assault on the Premier League title.
Leicester are currently at 25/1 to retain their title next season, while the likes of Watford, Bournemouth, West Brom and Burnley are 1000/1 to achieve the unthinkable – which is a dramatic decrease on the 2500/1 odds for Leicester last campaign.
