QPR manager Harry Redknapp has handed London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham a boost by revealing that striker Loic Remy will ‘only leave the club for a top seven side’.

Remy spent last season on loan at Newcastle, scoring 14 goals. Toon boos Alan Pardew was keen to bring him back to St James’ Park, but Redknapp claims the player is not keen, and will only go to a more competitive side.

He claimed “Remy didn’t want to go back to Newcastle, which is a massive club. So unless it’s a club in the top seven I don’t think he will go”.

Liverpool had also been linked with a move for Remy, but after agreeing an £8M deal, the Anfield club pulled out of the deal due to concerns over his medical.
