French striker Loic Remy saw his move to Liverpool break down earlier this summer after he failed a medical with the Merseyside club.

Whilst also being a target for Arsenal and Tottenham, he made a move for Chelsea in a deal thought to be worth around £10.5m as the Blues look to replace the departed Fernando Torres.

And the former QPR man has revealed why he picked the current Premier League favourites and signed a four year deal with them over all other clubs.

“I spoke with him (Mourinho),” he said.

“He is very clever and he knows exactly what he wants. He has targets for me and I know I have a target for myself as well.

“Everybody wants the best so the discussion was really good. I know he can get the best out of a player and I’m looking forward to working with him.

“We have two great strikers here already [Diego Costa and Didier Drogba] and I don’t have a choice if I want to be in the team – I have to play at a very high level.”
