Rio Ferdinand has admitted he will happily take the England job if it was offered to him.
The ex-Manchester United defender, 37, had no managerial experience, but offered some strong views about England’s poor showing at Euro 2016.
Roy Hodsgon resigned straight after the 3 Lions were dumped out of the competition by Iceland, and Sunderland manager Sam Allerdyce has emerged as the frontrunner to take over.

Ferdinand seems to have thrown his hat into the ring, however, in an interview with Copa90.
‘When you don’t know your starting 11 when you get to the tournament and don’t know your best formation, there’s a problem,’ he explained.
‘When you perform in a team, individuals can only perform to their greatest ability when the platform at the bottom and the foundations are set.
‘There needs to be a structure and you need to understand what you want your team to do.
‘When a player isn’t performing too well as an individual, he can fall back on that platform of structure, the team and unity.’
He added: ‘That’s why I should be manager!’
When asked if he was serious, he replied: ‘Yeah all day long.’
