Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to make a summer bid for Stoke City goalkeepers Asmir Begovic.
Rodgers wants to bring another goalkeeper to Anfield in order to provide competition for the in-form Simon Mignolet.
He believes Mignolet will consistently perform at a high level if he has some serious competition, something which Brad Jones has failed to do because of his injury problems.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina vice-captain, Begovic, is yet to sign a new deal at the Potters and could yet be available for around £12 million.
Liverpool have also been keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
