It seemed that Kevin Strootmans move was all but official earlier on today but now it seems that the Dutchman is going nowhere.
The estimated £32million pound deal looker destined to go ahead until Roma’s president James Palotta spoke on the matter.
He told Roma Radio: “Strootman will not go to Manchester United.
“We would be first in the league were it not for the injuries to Castan and Strootman.
“I think we’re a team of Scudetto and Champions League quality.
“Jose Holebas and Kostas Manolas are integrating well and we are firmly convinced that we will fight for the Champions League [next season].”
Manchester Uniter have been given then green-light to go ahead and spend £160milliom pound in a bid to return to the Champions League.
Louis Van Gaal is meant to be a huge fan of the midfielder with rumours circulating that he wants to be and will be reunited with his fellow countryman.
