Chelsea owner wants striker back at Stamford Bridge

Roman Abramovich wants Chelsea to try and re-sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.

The Blues sold the Belgian striker in the summer of 2014 for £28million, meaning the Toffees broke their transfer record to sign him, but it’s believed Abramovich was against selling him all along.

It was Jose Mourinho who decided to sell Lukaku, after telling him he wasn’t ready to be a regular starter at Stamford Bridge.

According to reports, Abramovich is a huge admirer of the striker and always has been, so he’s keen on the club attempting to re-sign him over the summer, even if it means paying up to £56m.

Everton’s Asking Price

It’s believed Everton want at least £50m for the star-striker, who has netted 18 goals so far this season, but Chelsea‘s board are ready to give the green-light to spend that much on him.

A new striker is believed to be the priority at Stamford Bridge, with Paris Saint-Germain‘s Edinson Cavani also linked.
