FC Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho, has revealed he tried to lure Chelsea’s Frank Lampard to the Nou Camp.

The Brazilian had several conversations with the Barca boss at the time, Frank Rijkaard, about trying to sign the Englishman, but the club failed to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.

Ronaldinho, who is currently playing in Mexico, was revealing his all-time Champions League XI, and he named Lampard in his side, and then admitted that he wanted him at Barcelona.

Ronaldinho explained: “I told Frank Rijkaard that we (Barcelona) should sign him, but he didn’t want to leave Chelsea.

“I am sure they would not have let him go, at that time he was one of the greats in Europe. His goal record from midfield was what really impressed me.”

Ronaldinho’s Champions League XI: Buffon; Cafu, Terry, Maldini, R. Carlos; Lampard, Makelele, Kaka; Messi, Ronaldo, Henry.
