Ruben Neves not keen to make a move back to the Premier League.

The Portuguese midfielder made a surprise move to Al-Hilal for a reported £47m fee in the summer, ending his six-year spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ever since penning a three-year contract with the Saudi Arabian side, Neves has since made 19 appearances and his side sits at the top of the Saudi Pro League table.

His move to the Middle East came as a shock to everyone as the 26-year-old had several suitors all across Europe with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool plotting a move.

There have been recent reports of Arsenal and Newcastle United taking an interest in the midfielder but Neves has expressed his desire to remain at Al-Hilal.

Neves told BBC Sport: “I don’t go.

“I think that’s rumours because of the owner of the clubs of course, and because I’ve played in England as well.

“There was Newcastle interest before I came here but I’m really happy here, my family’s really happy, so I’m having a great time.”

The Gunners are in the market for midfield reinforcements in January as Thomas Partey could force an exit to join Serie A giants Juventus.
