Russian side Zenit St Petersburg are plotting a January move for Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel, after failing to land him in the Summer and also last Winter.
The 28-year-old left Zenit in order to join Liverpool back in 2008 and has since become a first-team regular building an impressive partnership with Daniel Agger and also Jamie Carragher, before he retired.
Despite financial worries in the Russian game, Zenit have reportedly put aside around £16million to sign a defender and their former-defender tops their list.
