Serie A side have renewed their interest in Liverpool striker

Sampdoria are back in talks with Mario Balotelli, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A side were interested in signing the Liverpool striker earlier in the summer, but the proposed deal broke down due to financial reasons.

Sampdoria couldn’t afford the deal and the striker’s weekly-wages so they withdrew their interest, leaving Balotelli stranded in Merseyside.

Since then, the Italian has been linked with a move to Bologna, but that has since cooled off due to similar reasons.

Sampdoria Reinterested

However, according to Il Fatto QuotidianoSampdoria’s president Massimo Ferrero has established contact with Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola over the past few days.

Balotelli has been frozen out of Anfield, with Brendan Rodgers forcing him to train alone, so the striker is ready to complete a move away from the club.

Talks are still ongoing between the two clubs regarding a potential season-long loan, but Balotelli’s wages are still causing issues with Sampdoria unable to meet his £4m-a-year contract.
