The striker is close to joining Villareal.

Tottenham and Villareal have reached an agreement over the sale of Roberto Soldado.

Spurs tweeted that they had agreed a deal to sell him to Villareal and the player will now enter talks with the Spanish side and undergo a medical. The 30-year old has struggled at White Hart lane since his move from Valencia and with the rise of Harry kane, there is no longer a place for him in the squad.

It now appears that he is off to La Liga once again with Villareal offering the lure of first-team football and possibly the chance to rejuvenate his career, after a torrid two years in the Premier League, where he managed to score just seven times in over fifty games for Spurs.
