Former Reds captain Gerrard admitted that he would like to have played alongside Morata during his career.
“He’s been brilliant. I am a big fan,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“I would have loved to have played with him at some stage. He is a dream for a midfielder. He runs in behind.
“He makes really clever runs in the box. He is a big threat for Chelsea.”
Morata has yet to find the net in the Premier League since his hat-trick in a 4-0 win against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium back in September.
Morata will be hoping to end his five-game goal drought when Chelsea take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.
