Stoke’s bid to sign Liverpool flop Oussama Assaidi is close to collapse due to the player’s wage demands. The Potters have been locked in talks with the player for over a week and things are beginning to stall because of the amount of money the player is asking for.

Stoke are even preparing to turn their atttention elsewhere, unless a deal is swiftly struck. The Morocco international impressed boss Mark Hughes last season, as he spent the campaign on loan at the Britannia Stadium, making 25 appearances and scoring 5 times.

They have also targeted Nathan Redmond as the club look to improve their wide options. A fee of £4.5m (rising to £7m) had been agreed by Liverpool and Stoke for Assaidi but with talks slowing down, it looks like a deal could be off if the 25-year old doesn’t change his demands.
