Theo Walcott’s agent has confirmed that the Arsenal forward is wanted by Italian side, Fiorentina.

Reports broke yesterday that the Serie A side were keen on bringing the winger in on loan for the remainder of the season in January, but according to the Englishman’s agent, a move isn’t feasible due to wages.

Walcott has just returned from a nine-month lay-off and it was reported that Fiorentina would offer him a chance to regain fitness for the remainder of the season, but Colin Gordon has dismissed the idea of a move due to finances.

Arsene Wenger has sent players out on loan before after a long-term injury, with Aaron Ramsey going to Nottingham Forest after suffering his broken leg, and with it reported that Walcott could seal a similar loan move, the 25-year-old’s agent has dismissed the talks.

He said: “Theo is liked by a lot of teams and it’s likely there’s interest from Fiorentina.

“I have a great relationship with that club, I respect and admire their leaders. I just don’t think there is an opportunity to see Walcott in Florence.

“I don’t think that Fiorentina have the money to get him. I think it’s an almost impossible deal for them and I was never contacted by them about Theo.”
