Top 10 Current Chelsea Transfer Targets 1
Charlie Gregory

The Blues have a whole host of players currently on their radar, with a striker their number one priority.

Chelsea are on the lookout for several new players to help strengthen their squad to help them in Europe this coming campaign.

The Blues stormed to the Premier League title under Antonio Conte last season and the former Italy national team coach is eager to recruit some more top talent to ensure they can challenge in the league again and also cope with the demands of the Champions League.

He’s already got to work bringing in some fresh faces. Willy Caballero has joined the club on a free transfer as suitable backup to Thibaut Courtois, while Antonio Rudiger has penned a deal to join the club from Roma to help make the Blues defence even more solid.

More recently, Tiemoue Bakayoko made the move to Stamford Bridge in a £40m deal from Monaco, to help improve the side in the middle of the field.

The club aren’t stopping their though and are keen to continue splashing the cash to make their squad the best that it can be. Here are ten current Chelsea targets who could end up in the Premier League sooner rather than later…

  1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea are desperate to bring in a striker and recent reports have claimed that Aubameyang is high on their list of targets. The Borussia Dortmund man wouldn’t be cheap but he’s guaranteed goals and that’s exactly what the Blues want.

It looks like Diego Costa might no longer be needed at Stamford Bridge and what better way to replace him than with the impressive Gabon international.

He’s been a transfer target for a number of top European sides over the last few seasons and this summer could finally be the year that he makes the move to England.

Dortmund have claimed that they have no plans to let go of their star man, despite the fact that both Man City and Chelsea are willing to splash huge amounts of cash to land him.

It is unlikely to deter the Blues from trying to secure his signature though, so expect Antonio Conte to continue in his pursuit of Aubameyang.

  1. Sergio Aguero

Aguero is another huge name that is being linked with a potential move to the Blues.

The Argentina international has torn up the Premier League with Man City since his move to the club and is regularly at the top of the goalscoring charts.

Arguably one of the best strikers currently in England, it’s a surprise to see Pep Guardiola continue to leave the forward on the bench in some of Man City’s games.

A talent like Aguero’s shouldn’t be sat on the bench and if he is no longer guaranteed gametime at the Etihad Stadium, then Chelsea are more than willing to give it to him.

The striker would be able to play every week and start games each week again and would no doubt repay Antonio Conte with a glutton of goals.

The only stopping point is Man City themselves. Not only are they unlikely to want to part ways with the 29-year old but they would want an extortionate amount of cash to even make them consider letting him leave the club.

Add in the fact that City are unlikely to want to let one of their players go to a rival side and strengthen them even more and it doesn’t look promising for the Blues.

Stranger things have happened though and the interest is most definitely there and it is most definitely a big interest right now so it could very well happen.

  1. Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro has been on the Chelsea radar for quite some time now and boss Antonio Conte remains hopeful that a deal can be done.

However, recent reports have suggested that the Blues are likely to miss out on the Serie A star, with the player set to pen a new deal at his current club Juventus.

It won’t stop Antonio Conte, who is sure to make an approach for the defender right up until a new deal for Sandro is confirmed.

He’s impressed for Juventus in Italy and Conte believes he could massively boost his current Chelsea defence ahead of their European campaign. The player himself has plenty of Champions League experience.

Sandro won’t be cheap but if he does decide to leave Juve, then Conte will be willing to pay what it takes to bring him to the Premier League.

  1. Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata is more of a new transfer target for the Blues.

The Real Madrid attacker has been heavily linked with a move to Man United over the summer, with the former Juventus man being extremely close to completing a move to Old Trafford on several occasions.

However, in the end, Jose Mourinho plumped to sign Romelu Lukaku instead and with a deal for the Belgian now complete, the Red Devils are no longer on the lookout for a new target man.

Chelsea then are able to pursue him without much competition from other teams in England. The Blues have had him on their radar for a while but no concrete moves or bids have been made for his services yet.

This could all change soon though, with AC Milan set to force Chelsea’s hand. The Italian side have themselves decided that Morata would be a good addition to their side and have launched a bid to bring him to the club.

Chelsea risk losing out on yet another of their striking targets if they don’t also launch a bid for the Spaniard and so could launch their own move soon.

Morata would bring pace and goals to a Blues side that is in desperate need of a new striker with Costa not part of the plans at the club and so they could match Milan’s bid in an attempt to get him before them.

  1. Yannick Carrasco

The Atletico Madrid star is another target for Chelsea.

The Belgium international not only impressed for his country during the Euros but has shone on the big stage when given the chance for his club side too.

Blues boss Antonio Conte has been more than impressed with his showings and is now willing to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

According to reports, the Italian is that big of a fan of the player that he has already approached the player and the Atletico about a potential move and is willing to offer him a huge five-year contract to ensure his long-term future is at Stamford Bridge.

There is no doubt that his attacking talents would be a huge boost to the Blues squad as they prepare for Champions League football next campaign and if Conte can complete a deal, it would be a top signing for the club.

6. Danilo

Chelsea want to add another full-back to their ranks and Danilo is high on their list of defensive targets.

Real Madrid could be willing to let the defender leave, with the player struggling for much game time in such a talented Madrid side.

However, the only blow that the Blues have been handed in their current pursuit of Danilo hasn’t come from his current club. It has instead come from their Premier League rivals Man City.

City have launched their own bid for the player and terms have reportedly been agreed over a deal to send him to the Etihad Stadium. It won’t stop Conte from making a late swoop to try and steal him from under their noses but he is going to have to move quickly.

If he doesn’t, then he could be plying his trade for City next year and it will force Chelsea to look to other full-backs to bring in instead.

7. Andrea Belotti

Belotti is a very wanted man right now.

After a superbly impressive season in Serie A for Torino, he is the man on everyone’s lips this summer and his current club will have a huge job on their hands to try and keep him.

He bagged an impressive 26 goals in 35 games in Serie A last season and with a record like that, it’s no wonder some of Europe’s biggest clubs are desperate to sign him up.

If Chelsea can sign him and he can continue his goalscoring exploits in England, then he would be a massive boost to the side and would no doubt help fire his side to numerous victories in the coming campaign.

His heading ability is fantastic and he could fit superbly into Chelsea’s current plans. He’s that good that if he did sign, he could eventually make Blues fans ask ‘Whose Diego Costa?’

Signing him will be the hardest part though.

Not only will Torino demand a very large fee for him but AC Milan are also gunning for his signature, as they continue to build a brilliant squad. Chelsea will, again, have to move fast.

8. Gonzalo Higuain

Higuain has long been linked with a move to England and to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Arsenal both continually linked with the 29-year old.

Arsenal though have opted for Alexandre Lacazette and after landing the former Lyon man, they are no longer in need of a top striker, leaving Chelsea open to try and lure him to Stamford Bridge.

He won’t be cheap, with reports claiming Chelsea are prepared to launch a huge £88m move to land him from Juventus.

Juventus won’t be too keen to lose a player who has proved extremely valuable to them since his move from Napoli. He continues to rip the net most weeks in Serie A and they therefore won’t want to lose such a prolific striker.

Chelsea though are in need of a good striker themselves and they fork out a large enough sum, then it could be enough to convince Higuain to finally make the move to England.

9. Keita Balde

The 22-year old is a lesser target for Chelsea but still a target nonetheless.

The youngster’s pace and dribbling ability have caught the eye in Italy and led to the Blues contemplating an official approach to land him.

However, like with most other targets on this list, they aren’t the only side who are chasing the star.

London rivals West Ham have also been tracking the player for a while and recent reports have suggested a deal is in place for him to make the move to the Hammers. The deal is reportedly worth 32 million Euros – a price that would have to be matched for the Blues to have any hope of signing him themselves.

It certainly looks like he could be on the move though despite the fact he is a key player for Lazio. The question is just whether it will be to West Ham, Chelsea or another team.

10. Sergi Roberto

The Blues interest in Roberto has cooled a lot but he could remain a target for the club dependent on whether they can land other targets before him.

The 25-year old is extremely versatile and could fit in for Chelsea in a number of positions. He mainly works as a central midfielder – a position that the BLues have recently improved, although they are still contemplating signing another backup midfielder – or even as a full-back or winger.

He is valued quite highly by Barcelona, who aren’t too willing to let him leave but, again, for the right price they could be tempted to part ways with the Spaniard.

Man City have also been linked with him, having had a bid for the player rejected earlier this summer. However, they too have cooled their interest in the player for the time being.

There is no doubt Roberto is talented though, with his terrific passing ability and his ability to hold onto the ball and control the play from the centre of midfield if used there. If Chelsea do decide to go back in for him later in the window, he could prove to be a good signing if they do land him.
