10. Radamel Falcao

In tenth place on the list is the Colombian talisman Radamel Falcao. The Colombian before joining Manchester United was playing for AS Monaco and was huge star. His knee injury ruled him out of the World Cup and for almost the whole year without playing any competitive football. The injury caused him to lack match fitness and by the time he joined Manchester United on A 6 million Euros loan deal with a option of a 43.5 million permanent deal at the end of the season if he impressed during his loan spell. Falcao only managed to find the back of the net four times in 29 league appearances.

Most of the times he came on as a late substitute and most of the people thought the striker should have been given more time to prove his worth at the club.

9. Bebe

In ninth place on the Top 10 Footballers Who Flopped At Manchester United is the Portuguese forward Bebe. Most of the fans were shocked to find out that Manchester United had signed a Portuguese player by the name of Bebe as they had never heard of the player before. Not only was this a one sided feeling for the fans but it was a mutual feeling as former Manchester United manager also admitted to the fact that he had never seen the Portuguese international play before signing him at a cost of 7.4 million Euros.

8. Phil Bradsley

Eighth on the list is Phil Bradsley who is currently playing for the Stoke City.  The Scottish player was at Manchester United for quite some time, he failed to impress during his five seasons at  United and only managed to make 18 appearances for the Red Devils. It was not that the then youngster Phil Bradsley was not good enough but he lacked game time due high competition for his place with Gary Neville proving to be a better player than he was. Phil Bradsley moved to Sunderland in 2008 and filled the right back spot before joining Stock City in 2014.

7. Diego Forlan

In seventh place on the Top 10 Footballers Who Flopped At Manchester United is the Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan. Diego Forlan is football icon to most players and has had a wonderful football career. He has had major success overall but during his time at Manchester United the striker failed to impress and thats why his name has been found on this list. The striker signed for Manchester United from Argentinian club Independiente in the year 2002 to put more thrust upfront with Ruud Van Nistlerooy . The striker left Manchester United and went to Spain where he made his name known and became one of the most lethal strikers in the league and Europe at large.

6. Ryan Shawcross

In sixth place is Ryan Shawcross the English defender. Ryan Shawcross singed for the youth team at Manchester United in 2002 and found it hard to break through the youth system to make his way to the main squad. Shawcross however only managed to make two competitive appearances for the Red Devils Manchester United which were both Cup competitions. He then went ahead and signed a loan deal with Stoke City in 2007 with an option to buy at the end of the season with a price tag of 1 million Euros .

He impressed during his loan spell at the Potters and they were intrested in finalizing the deal but United decided to rise the fee to 2 million Euros and saw their defender join Stock City for the latter amount.

5. Guiseppe Rossi

Guiseppe Rossi the Italian international scoops the fifth place on the list. Guiseppe Rossi was signed by Manchester United from Parma the Italian side when he was only 17 years old. The youngster was loaned out to Newcastle and later Parma by Manchester United in order to gain match experience while competition was still stiff at United. After Rossi returned to Manchester United from his loan spell with Parma he was sold at a surprise price of 7 million Euros to Spanish side Villarreal .

4. David Platt

In fourth place is former professional footballer David Platt who is now a coach. David Platt started his football career at Manchester United just after schooling in the year 1984. Manchester United saw no place for the player and a year later in 1985 they released him out on a free transfer . Crewe Alexandre rushed and signed him and their hustle paid off as David Platt made his name as a goal scoring mid fielder . He spent three years at the club before moving to Aston Villa. He later went to play his football in Italy with clubs like Bari, Juventus and Sampdoria . His overall career was a success but his time with Manchester United was Horrible.

3. Peter Beardsley

In third place is the amazing Peter Beardsley who joined Manchester United in the year 1982 during the reign of Ron Atkinson as Manager. Beardsley was bought for a cost of 250,000 Euros from the Canadian club Vancouver White caps . Peter Beardsley failed to earn first team football at Manchester United and was released on a free transfer. He went on to be a star player and Manchester United obliviously regretted letting him go. He spent his time with Newcastle, Everton and Liverpool.

2. Gerard Pique

In runners up is the Spaniard Gerard Pique who joined Manchester United from the Spanish giants FC Barcelona on a free transfer. Manchester United signed for free due to the fact that he had not yet signed a professional contract with the Catalan club. Pique was at Manchester for four seasons and only managed to make 23 appearances for the first team. Manchester United let the Spanish defender go in 2008 to join his boyhood club FC Barcelona as a long term replacement for Carles Puyol . Ever since joining Barcelona Pique has established himself and is one of the best central defender in the world.

1. Paul Pogba

In first place is French international player Paul Pogba. The French man was signed by Manchester United in 2009 in a controversial transfer move from Le Harve . Paul Pogba played for the youth squad and helped the team win their 10th FA Cup title and was then promoted to the main team in 2011. Paul Pogba only managed to make 7 appearances for the first team during the 2011-12 season. In 2012 Manchester United announced that he had left the club to join the Old Ladies , Juventus on a free transfer after refusing to renew his contract at Manchester United. Since he joined Juventus he has managed to be recognized on a world scale and has won three Serie A titles and one Coppa Italia cup.
