January is now well under-way, which means that the transfer window due to close at the month is well and truly open for business.
With the transfer window, comes a load of transfer rumours, and there’s already been a bunch since it opened on New Year’s Day.
So let’s take a look, here are the best/most interesting rumours of the January transfer window so far!
He’s been linked with both Everton and Arsenal, should Benfica’s Victor Lindelof become a Manchester United player by February 1st.
A highly doubtful transfer rumour, but one that is circulating nonetheless. We’re 99.9% though that Joe Hart won’t be a Liverpool player at the end of the window.
No, not the Xhaka that’s just signed for Arsenal, but rather his brother, who currently plays for Swiss side Basel. He’s been linked with a move to the Hammers for a fee believed to be around £4million.
Again, highly doubtful, but some big players are selling themselves out to China, could Cesc be the next to go?
Ashley Young is struggling to make any sort of impact at United these days, and has been linked with 6 mid-table sides who could take him on. Watford, Burnley, Swansea, Everton, West Brom and Hull are all said to be interested.
One of the Championship’s top scorers could be the solution to West Ham’s striker hunt. Hogan has been prolific this season and at 24 is ready to make the step up to the Premier League. The Hammers have already had a £10million bid rejected for him, with the Bees thought to be wanting more like £15m for this English prospect.
Having picked him up from Celtic for a bargain £13million fee, Southampton now seem set to make a massive profit on one of their best assets. Van Dijk has impressed everyone this season, particularly the big clubs. And, with Man City desperate to add some defensive stability to their team, they won’t be shy to pay the £50million asking price for this mountainous central defender.
If Payet leaves West Ham to go back home to France..what would that mean for the club’s future in the Premier League this season. The Hammers must keep hold of this special player at all costs.
With a relationship between Vidal and Conte already formed from their times at Juventus together, this could be a very possible move for the midfielder, but would a move of this high profile be likely to happen in January? Probably not.
Perhaps the hottest property in Europe at the moment, Griezmann is strongly linked to reunite with international teammate Paul Pogba at Old Trafford. However, this is a move that will likely wait until the summer to materialise.
